New registration obligation for packaging in Spain

The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

WEEE admonitions for quartz watches in Germany

The party filing the admonition bases its claims on competition law and demands, in addition to the submission of a cease-and-desist declaration with a penalty clause, the reimbursement of costs on the basis of a value in dispute in the amount of € 4,000.00.

anwalt.de reports numerous admonitions from a lawyer based in Berlin. The subject of the admonition letter is the allegation that the seller of quartz watches and clocks is in breach of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG / WEEE Germany), as he has not registered in accordance with Section 6 (2) of the Act. The party filing the admonition bases its claims on competition law and demands, in addition to the submission of a cease-and-desist declaration with a penalty clause, the reimbursement of costs on the basis of a value in dispute in the amount of € 4,000.00.
