Updating harmonized standards in the household appliance and IT sectors

The EU Commission has updated the list of harmonized standards for the Low Voltage Directive with a new implementing decision dated June 16, 2021. Market participants responsible for products, such as manufacturers, importers and fulfillment service providers, should ensure that their documentation always complies with current standards.

The EU Commission has updated the list of harmonized standards for the Low Voltage Directive with a new implementing decision dated June 16, 2021. Among other things, some parts 2 of the EN 60335 series of standards in the area of household appliances and some parts of the EN 50288 series of standards for data cables are changing.

The use of harmonized standards in the implementation of legal product requirements is one of the most important and efficient measures.
