SVHC – The list of Substances of Very High Concern continues to grow

Failure to report such products may be penalised. trade-e-bility advises its customers on the management of chemical product requirements and offers risk-based solutions for compliance with SVHC notification obligations to those affected.

Since 8 July 2021, the list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) has been extended to include a further eight candidates. These are used, for instance, in rubber and textiles, as flame retardants or in the manufacture of plastic products. Substance considered to be harmful to health are classified as SVHCs. The classification as SVHC leads to the fact that from a content of more than 0.1% by weight of such substances in a material, this must be reported to the respective purchaser in the supply chain. The SVHC list now contains 219 substance entries. It is available for inspection on the website of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
