The environmental organisation Deutsche Umwelthilfe announces that it will use all legal means to punish violations of the obligation to take back waste electrical appliances.

The Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) is suing a total of seven large supermarket chains and drugstore companies for violations of the legal obligation to take back electronic waste. The complaints result from DUH test visits between May and June 2023. The DUH had discovered that it was not possible for e-waste to be returned to the branches concerned. The DUH also announced that it would “consistently use all legal means to punish violations”.

By means of the platform www.take-e-back.de, take-e-way offers all retailers and online traders concerned a WEEE take-back system in Germany that covers all legal obligations.
