Sales ban for lamps with old energy label

From 1 March 2023, retailers must ensure that old stock is also embellished with a new energy label and that incorrectly labelled goods can no longer be sold as of March.

In the implementing regulation on energy consumption labelling of light sources (lamps) published in March 2019, the introduction of the new energy label with QR code was set for 1 September 2021. A transitional period until 28 February 2023 has been granted for goods in stock at retailers, until which time light sources may still be sold with the old energy label. As of 1 March 2023, dealers must now ensure that old stock is also provided with a new energy label.

Traders affected must be aware that incorrectly labelled goods will no longer be saleable from March onwards. trade-e-bility is available to assist its customers with advice and implementation options if required.

The example shows that optimal Legal Monitoring is necessary as an existential risk precaution in order to protect you under product law. The consultancy team at trade-e-bility will be pleased to advise you via +49/40/75068730-0 or beratung@trade-e-bility.de about solutions to help you achieve successful sales in the field of lamps, especially with regard to mandatory labelling of products or packaging.
