A revision of the Product Safety Directive is scheduled for 2022. This will then also apply to trivial items and non-electrical products such as furniture, textiles and some purely mechanical products. In particular, the requirements for the technical documentation well be revised. To date, there have been no or only indirect requirements in this regard. This is now about to change.
In line with CE products, the technical documentation will need to be analysed and kept in custody. Distributors will likewise be held more accountable for ensuring the compliance of the products they offer for sale.
