Publishers and bookshops must register with LUCID

All publishers and bookshops that send packaged goods to end customers must register in the LUCID packaging register. What is also new is that intermediaries or publishing house distributors must ask their customers to register, otherwise neither books nor other goods could possibly be shipped in conformity with the law from 1 July 2022.

take-e-way already reported that every retail shop is required to register packaging.

buchreport.de now informs that publishers and bookshops that send packaged goods to end customers must also register in the LUCID packaging register. Previously, this only applied to manufacturers of packaging, but since July it has also applied, for example, to bookshops with online shops and to publishers. Without registration, there is a risk of fines or a ban on operation. Intermediaries or publishing house distributors must request registration from their customers, otherwise neither books nor other goods may be shipped, and this rule has been in place since 1 July 2022.
