EU Packaging Regulation Date postponed

The corrigendum procedure stipulates that the PPWR is deemed to have been adopted if no parliamentary group or at least 36 MPs demand a vote within 24 hours.

Due to a lack of time before the European elections, the corrigendum procedure was necessary in the case of the EU packaging regulation (PPWR) (trade-e-bility reported). As Euwid now reports, the vote on the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) has been postponed to the last week of November. The Environment Committee will vote on the regulation on 25 November 2024. On the following day, it will be announced in plenary as a corrigendum. The Rules of Procedure for the corrigendum procedure stipulate that the PPWR is deemed to have been adopted if no political group or at least 36 MEPs request a vote within 24 hours. Following the Council's approval, the regulation enters into force 20 days after publication in the Official Journal of the EU, with its application beginning 18 months later. Some regulations have different transitional periods.
