The foundation EAR published the regulations for the calculation of the guarantee amount for photovoltaic modules according to the German ElektroG on its website.

Hamburg/Fürth (Germany) - The foundation EAR (German WEEE registration board) published the regulations for the calculation of the guarantee amount among others for photovoltaic modules according to the German ElektroG (= Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act) on its website.

Guarantee parameters for PV modules (presumably as of mid of 2015)
Therefore, after coming into force of the amended Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG2), the guarantee parameters for photovoltaic modules which are put on the German market, are as follows:

- 30 % presumed return rate
- 240 months presumed medium life expectancy
- 200 €/t estimated disposal cost

Calculation base of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) for manufacturers of PV modules are fixed
For bail-based guarantee models, a deposited guarantee amount of 60 € per ton is resulting of these figures. The costs for insurance-based solutions need to be calculated for the manufacturers and importers by the insurances on the basis of these parameters.
