New edition of the Bed Safety Standard DIN ISO 19833

In June of this year, the safety standard for beds DIN ISO 19833 was published. Proof of conformity for bedroom furniture, which is still subject to the very outdated EN 1725 of 1998, is facilitated by this new publication. Both standards have not been harmonised, however, which means that conformity of the bedroom furniture with the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG) or the European General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC must be justified in addition to the application of the standard. A risk analysis is helpful in this regard.

trade-e-bility supports furniture manufacturers in the correct choice of standards and certificates of conformity and assists with the preparation of risk analyses.
