The EU established ecodesign requirements for tumble dryers 11 years ago with the Implementing Regulation (EU) 932/2012. A draft of a new implementing regulation has now been available since 1 March 2023. In addition to new limits on standby consumption of the units, lists of spare parts in particular are required to be kept for 10 years after the last unit has been sold. In addition, consumer information on ecological operation of the appliances is to become more far-reaching.
Affected economic operators such as manufacturers and importers still have the opportunity to comment on the draft here until 29 March 2023.
The example shows that optimal legal monitoring is necessary as an existential risk precaution in order to protect you under product law.
