The objective of the measure is to minimise as far as possible the use of aniline, which is often used in textile dyes, textiles, leather or finger paints. With application-dependent limit values of 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg, high hurdles have now been established against the use of aniline. This tightening will only become effective once the amendment to the Directive has been transposed into the respective national legislation, however. This is scheduled for 5 December 2022.
