LUCID and WEEE: eBay dealer cannot sell any items

“I can’t post and sell items on eBay Germany; I’m losing out on plenty of sales. I’ve contacted LUCID, but have received no reply from them. I don’t know what else to do; I’m a little desperate as I’ve spent loads of money on making everything legal as a professional seller, but eBay isn’t helping me in this particular case. eBay’s only response to me is “Contact the authorities.”

On 3 November 2021, a professional eBay seller said that he had received a message from eBay stating that he had been reported by a solicitor for not being registered on the LUCID packaging and WEEE registers:

“I can’t post and sell any items on eBay Germany and am losing out on plenty of sales. I’ve contacted LUCID, but have received no reply from them. I don’t know what else to do; I’m a little desperate as I’ve spent loads of money on making everything legal as a professional seller, but eBay isn’t helping me in this particular case. eBay only answers: “Contact the authorities.”

An eBay employee has since commented as follows on the forum post: „[…] eBay is obliged to take action in response to a regulatory request. […]”
