German Packaging Act: Separation instructions of the Dual Systems for more motivation to separate waste

Nine German Dual Systems have decided to jointly offer free, manufacturer-independent labelling for packaging in order to support distributors in educating their customers. Our co-operation partners are amongst the nine systems, which means that companies that have a contract with take-e-way for the licensing of packaging in Germany can also make use of the separation notices.

Nine German Dual Systems have decided to jointly offer free, manufacturer-independent labelling for packaging in order to support distributors in educating their customers.

The separation instructions are intended to educate and encourage consumers to separate and dispose of packaging correctly.

The reason for the joint project is the increasing demand from manufacturers for educational offers for customers. For instance, the yellow bags and yellow bins contain an average of 30 per cent of waste that does not belong inside them. This renders the recycling of correctly separated packaging considerably more difficult and partially even impossible. In the long run, the separation instructions are intended to increase the quantities of packaging collected and to improve the quality of collection.

Cross-manufacturer use of the label guarantees a high level of recognition for end consumers. The easily comprehensible, unambiguous symbols are intended to contribute to the success of the separation notices and can even be optionally supplemented by QR codes for further information.

Above all, the added value in terms of transparency should be emphasised, because the separation notices show that you, as the manufacturer or distributor, assume product responsibility for your packaging as contemplated by the mandatory registration under Section 9 of the German Packaging Act. This is how you convey credibility – especially to target groups for whom sustainability is very important.

Our co-operation partners are amongst the nine systems, which means that companies that have a contract with us for the licensing of packaging in Germany can also make use of the separation notices.

If you wish to use the separation notices, simply register via www.trenn-hinweis.de. On conclusion of the trademark licence agreement, you will receive all documents by e-mail.
