The rapid alert system for hazardous products “RAPEX” is increasingly identifying electrical products that do not comply with the RoHS Directive. Due to this situation, market surveillance has now been particularly intensified. Above all, the limit values for the restricted substances according to RoHs and POP (Persistent Organic Pollutants) are being checked – an example of this being short-chain chlorinated paraffins, also known as SCCPs.
Parties concerned:
Dealers and first-time distributors
Requirements:
Compliance with the RoHs directive with reliable and up-to-date documentation
If you have previously fulfilled all the requirements of the RoHS Directive, then there is no need for any further action on your part.
Our recommendations:
Please be sure that your documentation is complete. Make sure that the products you sell are EU compliant; this includes e.g. a test certificate for NSR and EMV. If your products should become conspicuous, this may result in a product recall and possible legal consequences. TMK will assist you in making your documentation compliant and to ensuring that your products meet the relevant requirements.
