Amazon has informed its customers that as part of the new regulations for most non-food consumer products, which will come into force on 13 December 2024 through the new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), a responsible person must also be appointed in the EU (trade-e-bility reported that Amazon demands GPSR fulfilment).
Since 16 July 2021, it has been illegal to sell products with CE marking in the EU without a responsible person in the EU. Products with CE marking must be labelled with the contact details of the responsible person. According to the General Product Safety Regulation, a responsible person must also be specified.
The responsible person acts as a link between the seller or producer and the market surveillance authorities. Their tasks include keeping the CE Declaration of Conformity and the technical documentation available for the national surveillance authorities for a period of 10 years after the product has been placed on the market, providing all necessary information and documentation to demonstrate the conformity of a product and cooperating with national authorities in all necessary measures.

The General Product Safety Regulation also requires a risk analysis, which is mandatory for almost every product. You can request a risk analysis quickly and without obligation via the trade-e-bility fast lane:
