EU Web Crawler alerts public authorities to unsafe products

In future, the EU Commission wants to take a closer look at online platforms in order to better protect consumers and remove dangerous products from the market. To this end, a new electronic monitoring tool called “Web Crawler” will be introduced to help national authorities detect unsafe products.

The EU Commission thus launched “Web Crawler”, a new electronic monitoring tool, on 25 April 2022. This tool is designed to assist national authorities in identifying online offerings of dangerous products reported in Safety Gate. This tool will detect and automatically list each of such offerings, enabling enforcement authorities to track down the provider in question and order the effective withdrawal of such offerings.

We will be pleased to answer any questions you may have about Web Crawler or how to make your products secure in the online store: please call +49/40/75068730-0 or send an e-mail to beratung@trade-e-bility.de
