From 1 September 2021, the energy label for light sources, also known as lamps or bulbs, will change. The majority of manufacturers and importers have been preparing for this for some time now. Be it that light sources were entered into the EU’s EPREL database and thus QR access codes and energy labels were generated, or that the trade was supplied with the new labels.
The BVT (Bundesverband Technik des Einzelhandels e.V.) shows in a clear checklist what retailers have to do now specifically as of 1 September 2021. The checklist is available for download at this link, with the kind permission and courtesy of the BVT:
All economic operators involved are affected by such far-reaching legal changes as the relabelling of products in an entire economic sector. Initiating and implementing the right measures early enough is absolutely crucial.
Evaluation and/or preparation of test reports
Please bear in mind that the new labels must have corresponding test reports that must be placed in the EPREL database. If these are lacking, then new labelling is not possible. Preparing a test report is time-consuming, so please act promptly. trade-e-bility can support you in the evaluation of your test documents. Moreover, trade-e-bility will inform you at early stage about upcoming changes in EU legislation, determine the respective impact, recommend implementation measures and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
