ElektroG quarterly fee in the Federal Law Gazette

The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act Battery Act Fee Ordinance (ElektroGBattGGebV) was published in the Federal Law Gazette on 8 December 2022. This includes the new quarterly fee, as was to be expected. The association VERE e.V. will continue to campaign for a fair fee structure in the area of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act / Batteries Act.

As take-e-way already reported, the introduction of a quarterly fee for registration account holders in the amount of € 24.10 per quarter is particularly noteworthy in the eighth Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act Battery Act Fee Ordinance (ElektroGBattGGebV). Due to the fact that the new fee is not dependent on quantity, it places a particularly high burden on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in relation to the sales volume. This was strongly criticised by the association VERE e.V. in a statement to the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV). The quarterly fee draws no distinction between B2C and B2B registrations. It only affects registrations of electrical and electronic equipment; battery registrations are not concerned.
