Battery passport and digital product passport

Answers to the questions: What is the Digital Product Passport? What data should be included? When must batteries have a battery passport? What information does the battery passport contain?

As reported by trade-e-bility, sustainable products are to become the standard in the EU. In future, only products that are durable, repairable, reusable and recyclable and that comply with the regulations for sustainable products will be authorised in the EU. The senseless destruction of usable goods will be prohibited. The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is also intended to strengthen the rights of consumers throughout the EU, who will be comprehensively informed about the environmental footprint of the respective product and can thus make a conscious decision in favour of particularly sustainable products.

Due to the many questions about the Digital Product Passport and the Battery Passport and the ever-increasing bureaucratic carousel in the area of product compliance, many of our customers ask themselves the following questions:

  • What is the Digital Product Passport and in which legislation is it planned?
  • What data should be included in a digital product passport?
  • When must batteries have a battery passport?
  • What information must the battery pass contain?
