Bamboo socks are reason for warnings

Tightly woven textiles cannot be made from the natural fibre bamboo because the raw materials are subjected to a viscose process in which the properties of the raw material are lost. Therefore, it must not be advertised that it is bamboo.

trade-e-bility already reported on pollutants in plastic tableware made from bamboo. Now, online retailers of textiles also need to be attentive when it comes to bamboo products.

As Online Retailer News reports, the labelling of materials can quickly become grounds for admonition letters. A dealer who offered “bamboo socks” on his site received an admonition letter instigated by a competitor. The reason: Tightly woven textiles cannot be made from the natural fibre bamboo because the raw materials are subjected to a viscose process in which the properties of the raw material are lost. Therefore, it must not be advertised that it is bamboo.

We will be glad to advise you about solutions with which you can secure your sales success story in the field of bamboo products or product labelling. Please call +49/40/75068730-0 or send an e-mail to beratung@trade-e-bility.de
