A dealer who offered “bamboo socks” on his site received an admonition letter instigated by a competitor. The reason: Tightly woven textiles cannot be made from the natural fibre bamboo because the raw materials are subjected to a viscose process in which the properties of the raw material are lost. Therefore, it must not be advertised that it is bamboo.
