Amazon Product Assurance, Risk and Security (PARS)

The Amazon Product Assurance, Risk, and Security (PARS) organisation ensures that all products sold are safe and compliant. Amazon is building a team of software development engineers and scientists dedicated to building tools and systems that will fundamentally impact Amazon's entire retail business.

On 22 September 2021, trade-e-bility reported Amazon’s PARS programme and the loss of sales authorisation in the absence of product safety. This article has attracted a great deal of interest. So today we are going to give you further particulars on the subject:

PARS – Product Assurance, Risk, and Security

The Amazon Product Assurance, Risk, and Security (PARS) organisation ensures that all products sold are safe and compliant. It consists of several teams:

Product Assurance

The Product Assurance team ensures that every product purchased on Amazon.com is safe and meets all required compliance standards. To this end, it uses the very latest machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. Amazon is building a team of software development engineers and scientists dedicated to building tools and systems that will fundamentally impact Amazon's entire retail business.

Risk

Multiple teams within PARS work to reduce risk to Amazon customers, employees and delivery partners by providing solutions to ensure compliance and maintain security. These teams ensure that all of Amazon’s contractual, legal, regulatory and policy requirements are met worldwide. They work to quickly resolve escalations impacting Amazon customers, create new programmes to support key compliance initiatives and implement improvements to existing compliance controls.

Security

The mission of the Security organisation is to provide critical support and timely notification to Amazon's global operating partners and senior management of emerging events that have impacted or made the potential to impact life safety, operations and/or the Amazon brand. The Security team uses a crisis management model and comprises professionals who have the knowledge, skills and professional experience to protect Amazon Operations employees, property, assets and ideas worldwide. The Security professionals leverage technology, efficient procedures and practices along with professional expertise to support Amazon’s fulfillment center and customer service operations.

Conclusion

The information above confirms that Amazon is investing substantially in product safety and risk protection. Not only to protect Amazon customers, but also its own employees and suppliers. To this end, knowledge, experience and the latest machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies are deployed.

This development clearly shows that product safety and the fulfilment of compliance requirements of every description are being massively focused on by Amazon.
