Amazon EU shops affected by WEEE Germany

“If you don’t take action, your non-compliant ASINs may be deactivated in Germany from 5 June. This means that your listings in other EU shops will also be affected and you will no longer benefit from the advantages of pan-European shipping through Amazon.”

In an e-mail message of 4 April 2023, Amazon reminds its sellers of the obligations that apply if they sell electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Germany. Because from 1 July 2023, Amazon will be legally obliged to deactivate your non-compliant offers (take-e-way reported). The implications of non-compliant listings are far-reaching, according to Amazon:

“If you don’t take action, your non-compliant ASINs may be deactivated in Germany from 5 June. This means that your listings in other EU shops will also be affected and you will no longer benefit from the advantages of pan-European shipping via Amazon. Amazon may stop moving inventory between shipping centres where you have authorised the placement of such inventory. In this case, you will need to bear the costs of cross-border shipping and no longer stand to benefit from fast delivery times. We recommend starting registration before 15 April 2023 as the process can take up to eight weeks.”
