Amazon demands WEEE registration by 5 June

As of that date, Amazon will begin suspending non-compliant offerings in order to meet the statutory EPR requirements in good time.

As onlinemarketing.de reports, Amazon has informed via e-mail that its sales partners must deposit their WEEE registration numbers with the marketplace by 5 June 2023. As of that date, Amazon will begin suspending non-compliant offerings in order to meet legal Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements in good time. This information is confirmed by a corresponding report from Onlinehändler (retailer) News.

As take-e-way already reported, operators of electronic marketplaces and fulfilment service providers are required to check as of 1 July 2023 whether producers/sellers have duly registered their electrical and electronic equipment with the Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR) foundation. If producers (sellers can also be producers within the meaning of ElektroG) or authorised representatives are not properly registered or not registered at all, operators of electronic marketplaces may not enable their electrical equipment to be offered or made available.

take-e-way will be pleased to assist you via +49/40/750687-0 or beratung@take-e-way.de if you have any questions on WEEE, the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), Batteries Act, Packaging Act and on EPR with registration/licensing.

The trade-e-bility advisory team will be pleased to advise you via +49/40/75068730-0 or beratung@trade-e-bility.de on solutions to secure your Amazon sales success, especially for documents on markings, warnings, safety labels, conformities, CE labelling and the responsible person.
